Peter has more than 10 years of experience in Consultancy. He joined NJM in 1997 with a brief to oversee business development a role which included developing new products and advisory services for delivery within and outside the UK.
Peter has more than a decade of experience in the development, design, execution and evaluation of major education and training programmes, business support programmes and large capital investment programmes (particularly infrastructure supporting scientific research and industrial development) business-support and technology transfer programmes.
Peter specialises in supporting companies (plcs and SMEs), universities, centres of excellence and research institutes throughout the EU to evolve research and development strategies and in advising them on how to attract and secure EU and UK grants to support their R&D effort and increase their research capability/capacity. He also assists companies and social enterprises to secure funds (grants) to support business growth and development (including business relocations, expansions, and deal with the consequences of mergers/acquisitions, etc). He is frequently called upon to independently assess EU and UK grant applications, evaluate EU and UK Government funded projects and provide interim management and/or support project recovery in institutions where programmes have not gone as planned.
He has also undertaken an array of work for economic development and enterprise agencies, local authorities, universities and research institutes to inform regional/organisational strategies and plans. This work has included preparing economic assessments, sector studies, strategies and plans, feasibility and foresight studies, and the preparation of grant applications to support major programmes.
Peter has also worked for the European Commission, the Government of Poland and the British Council.
